On the list … Charlotte Ronson (the designed of the JC Penney line “T Heart Ronson”) and her sister, DJ Samantha Ronson, and their friends including several LA natives: sisters Kidada Jones and Rashida Jones, sisters Nicky Hilton and Paris Hilton, Monet Mazur. Other attending friends include like nightlife guru Brent Bolthouse, Hollywood’s most notorious “plus one” Carlos Lopez, publicist Rembrandt Flores, actor and DJ Danny Masterson, actor Zac Efron and more … Last year, Charlotte’s party for I Heart Ronson was front-lined by her step-father Mick Jones’ band Foreigner at Milk Studios in LA.

For those of you not familiar with the above … Charlotte (a designer) and Samantha (a DJ) are twin sisters and daughters of writer/socialite Ann Dexter-Jones; their step-father is Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones. Kidada (a designer) and Rashida (an actor) are daughters of Quincy Jones and both attended the Buckley school in the valley. Paris and Nicky (daughters of realtor/socialites Rick & Kathy Hilton) also went to Buckley on and off and know the Jones through school and growing up in LA. Nicole Richie (daughter of Lionel Richie) also went to Buckley.

Charlotte started her line with JC Penney around the time collaboration between stores like Target and H&M were winding down their famous collaborations with major celebrities and brands like Isaac Mizrahi, Madonna, Lanvin and Viktor & Rolf. JC Penney picked up on the trend a bit late but chose wisely as Charlotte Ronson has mucho brand cache among the younger set.

PARTY #2 ….

Moving west last night … We at the Truffle dare not cross the 405 unless we are going to Vicente for dinner or the Malibu Colony. However last night we made a one-time detour to the Santa Monica Promenade.

On the list … MOCA’s director Jeffrey Deitch and Maurice Marciano, one of the four Marciano brothers who founded Guess, teamed up to host the re-opening of Guess’ flagship store and spread the hype about MOCA’s current exhibit Art in the Street.’ The Bumbys were also present, clad in their usual bandana-masks and hat. The Bumbys, for those who don’t know, are two a performance artists who make an honest and fair assessment of your appearance at parties by typing it out on an old Brother computer and giving you the card. They have been the latest fad at Hollywood parties in the last year.

Another party fad we’ve noticed at Hollywood parties is live graffiti art. Last night, Guess and MOCA hired street artist (and friend of the Truffle) Chase to conduct live graffiti art next to the red carpet in front of the party. On the inside, they also had an electronic graffiti board we also saw at the T-Mobile party in Beverly Hills earlier this year.

But back to MOCA, we covered the opening of Art in the Street at MOCA this spring and loved the exhibit – full of well known and obscure LA and non-LA street artist work. MOCA has been doing a series of promotional parties – though they feel anything but promotional. So far they have all been exclusive, cherry-picked crowds at sophisticated laid-back venues. Last month, MOCA and Jeffrey teamed up with LEVIS to screen a documentary film at SOHO House and host an after party a mile East at the notorious Levis showroom, located in a clandestine house on Sunset Blvd next door to the Château Marmont. Blink twice and you’ll miss it.

PARTY #3 … The final party of the eve was the premiere of True Blood – who by the way – throws pretty amazing parties. You can credit that to HBO who understand what it takes to please a pampered crowd.

On the list … Stephen Moyer and wife Anna Paquin, Alexander Skarsgard & girlfriend Kate Bosworth, Joe Manganiello with fiancée Audra Marie, Kristin Bauer van Straten, Ryan Kwanten, Perrey Reeves (on HBO’s “Entourage”), Amanda Seyfried (who was on HBO’s ”Big Love”) and more all gathered at the ArcLight Cinerama Dome. Afterwards there was a party that included palm-reading witches and plastic fangs for guests. The new season of “True Blood” premieres Sunday on HBO.

Last night, a guy named “Paz” is claiming he crashed Paris Hilton’s birthday party and made off with the cake! The crasher “Paz” posted a detailed account of the hiest on his Facebook page this morning when he awoke and found the enormous cake in his apartment (he was a tad wasted). Now, don’t worry too much all you Paris fans out there – the birthday girl actually had more than one cake. Paz made his great escape with trickery, deceit and a Jedi mind-trick on the event’s security, walking right past several hired guards with an authoritative look any good cake-removal-professional would have, and out the front door to his friends Nissan and rode all the way home with the cake on his lap.

I brush shoulders with the guy who resembles the head of security… “Hey man,” I say to him with an air of I-know-what-I’m-doing. “The cake is in that room, right?” “Yes, sir,” he acknowledges with a slight bow toward the rear of the house. I take my cue and make a bullet for cake city… In one fluid motion, I sidestep a confused waiter, seize the prize, and about face to the door… I pass the security chief again on the way out… I nod purposefully… he nods in return… 40 seconds later I’m in the front seat of a Nissan Maxima with 70 lbs. of awesome in my lap. Success.

Failblog, Gawker, Perez Hilton, ET and The Insider readers have been commenting on the story all day. Reactions have ranged from “Epic” to “Give this man a medal” to “Everything about this is awesome” … but Perez Hilton had an alternate stance on his blog scolding Paz for crashing a birthday and stealing property.

So the story goes, Paz was told by one of the wait staff that the cake would most likely get thrown out because there was a second larger cake being served to guests. This article is hilarious, well written and the pictures are a nice touch but I can’t help but wonder if this story is entirely true. Paz, did you really “steal” the cake …? I almost think maybe he was offered to take the cake home at the end of the party because it would have been thrown out or was perhaps he was one of the waiters.

Kudos for getting a picture of the giant IRON MAN Paris hired that shot lasers and fog at her guests. You can see another picture of Paris Hilton fleeing from Iron Man on Carlos Lopez’ blog, who was at the party (and was invited).

“The sbe Brothers Carnival”

SBE launches winter carnival in the parking lot of Industry night club on La Cienega every Sunday from 2pm to 6pm, and then moves inside the club until 10pm, starting this weekend through February :)

We are told the carnival will feature games and rides and “freaks”. The club is still open for regular hours Sunday night and the parking lot will be cleared for the rest of the week for regular parking.

Alright boys, Christmas in New York came early this year! Last night for the 15th year in a row, Victoria Secret held it’s annual fashion show featuring all it’s Angels: Lily Donaldson (my fav), Rosie Huntington-Whitely (“Transformers 3″), Adriana Lima (new mom), Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr (newly married this year to Orlando Bloom), Jessica Stam, Doutzen Kroes, Selita Ebanks, Lindsay Ellingson, Erin Heatherton, Izabel Goulart, Maryna Linchuk, Liu Wen, Martha Streck, Anja Rubik, Constance Jablonski, Chanel Iman, Candice Swanepoel, Behati Prinsloo, Anne Vyalitsina, Karolina Kurkova (her belly button looks fine to us!) and Magdalena Frakowiak.

For the jet-set, the VSFS is a regular stop on the annual calendar. Attendees are granted tickets via VS’s publicity department or through the network which tapes and broadcasts the show or through a model or producer of the show. This year lucky attendees were: Russell Simmons, Gerard Butler, Adam Levine, Malin Akerman, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Zac Posen, Paris & Nicky Hilton, Derek Blasberg, Akon, Stavros Niarchos, Carine Roitfeld, Alexander Wang and Adrian Grenier.

The costumes in the VSFS has greatly lacked in the recent years and this year was no exception. Most of the wings look cheaply made and use materials that can never be beautifiul like crochet, patchwork and pleather. Polka dots, denim, gingham and lace-up shout cheap as well. Themes of football, wrestling and soccer were yet another miss. Poor Behati Prinsloo was litereally made to dress up like a soccer ball with a poofy black and white pentagon patterned shrug. Isabeli Fontana as the wrestler was not hot, just awkward. The triabl theme portion of the show was better.

We have posted the images of costumes we LOVE. And the models, hair and make-up are still perfection. But the wings use to be stupendousness and now many are campy or sadly non-existent. A lot of the costumes look like an off night at the Playboy mansion.

Side note: Check out Michael Bay’s commercial featuring all Angels. This is interesting because he is using an Angel – Rosie Huntington-Whitely - for his next Transformer hero girl.

HERE ARE SOME NOTES ON WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED UPON FOR NEXT YEAR

Barabra Davis carousel clutch from Judith Leiber

Every year, Barbara Davis gets our her carousel-shaped bag by Judith Leiber for one of Beverly Hills‘ best known charity events, now 32 years in the running. You may know Barbara as the grandmother of LA natives/TMZ favs, Brandon and Jason Davis, or the other half of the power couple Barbara and Marvin Davis, who’s name is written across Cedars Sinai‘s largest building and many others around the city …

But those know her best, know her as a mother of 5, Gregg, Patricia, John, Nancy and Dana and that Barbara’s life mission has been to give Dana, who had diabetes as a very young girl, a fair shot at life.

Barbara founded this charity for sometimes designer Dana Davis, who had a pop-up store on Melrose Place last Spring, in 1978 after learning there was no cure and held the first ball in Denver, Colorado where the family lived at that time. Today it is commonly known to be held at the Beverly Hilton and hosts more than 1,000 guests – all in Black Tie.

Barbara picked the carousel motif for several reasons: a.) to coax Dana into sitting still for her daily insulin shots, b.) Mrs. Davis bought her a white pony, c.) Barbara also said the name referred to “children riding the carousel of life.”

She has raised 75$ million over the years for The Barbara Davis Cener for Childhood Diabetes in Auroro, Colorado, and for the Children’s Diabetes Foundation.

This has been a family event, ever since I can remember. My beautiful and expansive collection today spans generations, decades and closets. Fur is forever. Fur represents the cycle of life. Fur is the original green (see more on that below).

Continuing my tradition of buying my fur coats from only the best and most reputable fur dealer in town, I only buy from Somper Furs of Beverly Hills. Donna, the owner of eleven years and a fifth generation furrier, takes the time to get to know her clients well and is the most knowledgeable person I have ever met in all matters fur. She and her skilled assistant Carla know the ins and outs of my fabulous fashion sense and often put things aside for me they know I’ll love. She does this with all her best clients, which is one of the reasons all “in the know” women flock to Somper (as do their adoring men).

Women have an uncanny ability to bond over fur. My friend, a fellow Somper devotee, and Donna hosted a fabulous champagne tea for her birthday this year. Donna and everyone at Somper made the afternoon a pure delight, after all, what could be better than rose champagne, truffles, long stemmed strawberries, tea sandwiches and a stunning showroom full of gorgeous fur you can try on all day?!?!

Throughout the afternoon, ladies lounged on comfy couches sipping cappuccinos and wine while trying on elegant minks, luxurious lynxes, fabulous foxes and beautiful beavers, all in the form of jackets, coats, vests, hats, scarves, shawls, purses, cuffs, collars, gloves and key chains. Including our treasures for the day was a soft, beautiful and elegant woven rabbit trench coat that one of my friends chose and a fabulous, edgy and fashion forward white mink jacket with a metallic silver leather collar and piping which came home with me!

It is worth mentioning that I, and most of Donnas’ clients, can’t stay away from her ingenious invention of the fur and hand beaded puffball keychain. No one can resist a puffball fur keychain and in fact, Paris Hilton and I both collect them in every color. I display mine beautifully in my closet, changing color daily depending on what I wear. I have thirteen of them and as a result I never lose my keys and regardless of the season I always have a little touch of luxury in the name of fur to complete my ensemble.

My husband Kyri, an intellectual property attorney, also loves to buy me fur (though I must admit I think I get more sheer joy out of shopping myself). There is something very special about a man picking out a fur for his woman and the fact that he knows what he’s buying his wife could very well end up on his daughter one day. One of my favorite and most sentimental coats is my vintage mink ankle length coat that my father bought my mother in the 60’s in Athens, Greece, before I was born.

It is a special patchwork array of chocolate brown, cream and tan sheared mink. I can’t step out the door without getting a plethora of compliments on how gorgeous and unusual it is. No one makes anything like this anymore and it will be in my family forever. Also a major highlight in my collection and from Somper Furs of course, is a visually stunning red fox and lamb, belted, below the knee length coat. It is one of my absolute favorites as the color red is my favorite color. As an artist, color is a very important part of my life. I’ve always loved to wear vibrant colors and use them in my paintings too. In my oil paintings and photographs, color is an integral aspect of my work. I use color in my wardrobe much the way, as a main source.

Many people shy away from dyed fur, not I. I have a deep emerald green lynx collar and matching cuffs that are so soft I have often wanted to take them to bed. I have a pink fuchsia mink scarf that I have taken to bed, but it turns more heads outside my home. I have a brilliant red hand knit sheared beaver vest that I wish I could use as a pillowcase it’s so soft, cozy and warm. I have a blue fox scarf, white mink scarf, black beaver shawl, purple fox scarf, red fox purse, white mink purse, beige and black fox fingerless gloves, white and black fox slippers, and…well…I could truly go on and on forever. My adorable Yorkipoo puppy, Nancy, has a leopard faux doggie jacket but perhaps next season she will get a custom pink rabbit jacket or vest from Somper. Anything to keep my dogs happy and cozy…they are my babies and love to cuddle up against plush fur blankets!

While some unknowing ladies might question why one would wear fur in LA to begin with, they must not have lived in our City of Angels long enough to know that (a) it does indeed get damn cold here and/or (b) there is simply and unquestionably no better party outfit than a little black dress, a pair of Louboutins and a fur coat.

And, for those that question fur at all, Donna and I would like to pose the fact that fur is the original “green”.

Man has been wearing fur and eating meat since the ice ages. Unless you are a complete vegan who hasn’t eaten meat or donned an animal skin since the age of twelve, i.e. you don’t own one SINGLE item of clothing or accessory that is made of leather, please…for God’s sake keep your mouth shut!

If you prefer pleather, made of plastics, that will clog our sewers and ruin our oceans, then by all means go synthetic. I (as do all lifelong fur devotees) prefer something sustainable and au naturale. As Donna often reminds me, if you want something that will last forever, that is 100% recyclable, that represents the cycle of life and is the ultimate natural source of our land, then please march into Somper immediately and buy yourself a stunning coat or fur accessory!

There is truly nothing like the feeling of fur against your skin. It is the pure lap of luxury, and who doesn’t need luxury in their lives?!?! After all these years I even have a pink fur jacket again. I bought it from Donna four years ago when she brought beautiful Somper pieces to support the Junior League holiday tea (donating a percentage of sales to our charity). It’s a beautiful pink lamb jacket with a pink fox collar. Patience is not a virtue of mine, but like the life of the animals we wear and what they produce through their skins, things often come full circle in life and I in turn waited from being three to being in my thirties to cherish another pink fur jacket. I imagine some little girl somewhere might just be wearing my pink rabbit jacket from the 70’s as I wear my pink lamb and fox jacket, simultaneously making and cherishing the memories each create.

Hey ladies … it’s brother Brandon we used to always see in Paris Hilton’s car strolling around with celebrities but kid brother Jason will make his TV debut as a Millionaire contestant looking for love on Bravo Tuesday, February 16th at 10pm. My grandparents were besties with his back in the spago/bistro/chasen’s days and Daily Truffle writer Lauren B. and her friends have grown up with Jason, who has always seemed to have a hard time. We are happy to say that Jason has been out of the hospital for a few weeks now, where he had been for a staph infection in his foot (nothing to do with his cane fyi). In other health news, Jason has lost triple digits of weight in the past months, a battle he has been fighting for years.

The weekend has opened up well with some interesting documentarians bring shorts to Sundance Day 1 (Thursday) such as Senator Edward Kennedy’s acclaimed documantary-making daughter Rory who takes a look at our fence building project on the Mexican border, Pablo Escobar’s own son comes clean in a documentary about the crazy mo fo in Sins of My Father”, Spike Jonzes shows his dark and wierd side with a freaky semi-animated short about robots plugged into the system, blah, blah, blah and DRUM ROLL PLEASE … Adrian Grenier is a stand out in this category with his film about a pre-maturing star struck teen he took pity on and indulged in this documentary featuring tons of A-listers about the world’s obsession with celebrity – why this is such a mystery to Adrian is beyond me – everybody loves a good story and beautiful things. Simple as that.

In the category of MAJOR A LIST stars at Sundance, Ben Affleck and Tommy Lee Jones showed up to the premiere of The Company Men, a story about corporate downsizing. I use to looooove Tommy, but I feel like he’s just done too many movies. Is that wrong? Nothing wrong with working and making money I suppose … Ben Affleck sans Jennifer and getting testy with the cameras (see pics below). I love Ben because he looks like my ex-boyfriend. The most interesting thing to me here is little Sasha Speilberg making her way down the red carpet looking like an exact brunette version of her mom, Kate Capshaw. When Kate and Steven were first dating, he lived up the street from me off Coldwater Canyon and Jessica Capshaw was a friend (Harvard-Westlake). I remember when they wed, bought their house together in the Palisades, had Sasha, adopted Theo and we graduated and went to college … but I hear life went on for the Speilbergs after I left L.A. and they continued to adopt and have children. They are also at my neighbor’s house (Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson) in Malibu Colony all the time – though not recently since they been renovating.

Another interesting film from an actor – Josh Radnor of How I met Your Mother – which co-stars the most genius actor of all time NPH! (read: Neil Patrick Harris for the non-believers) – has directed a film good enough to make it to Sundance and sounds like The Pursuit of Happyness meets Swingers, and stars my favorite actress with a ritzy profile – Kate Mara (Transsiberian (2008), Entourage (season 6), Iron Man 2 (2010) – stand back Paltrow – Mara’s family owns the New York Giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers; she is the great-granddaughter of Giants founder Tim Mara, the granddaughter of late Giants owner Wellington Mara on her father’s side, as well as the great-granddaughter of Steelers founder Art Rooney on her mother’s side. Mara’s uncle is John Mara, the president and CEO of the Giants, and her father is the vice president of player evaluation. Mara missed the Steelers’ winning Super Bowl XL in 2006 because she was working in Los Angeles. Mara was so disappointed, she added to her contract that if the Giants or Steelers go to the Super Bowl, she can attend. Mara’s favorite Giants game was when she was asked to sing the national anthem in honor of her grandfather, Wellington Mara, who died in October 2005. Mara has regularly sung at home games and season openers of the Giants since about the age of 15 or 16 when her uncle asked her to fill in when they couldn’t find a singer. She has also sung at a couple of Steelers games. She sang the national anthem at the 2006 NFL season opener, dubbed the “Manning Bowl,” where the Giants played the Indianapolis Colts.

This years Kari Feinstein’s Style Lounge for The Golden Globes was held at the always interesting Zune LA, on Beverly Blvd. (Shout out to Kari and Tracy Pendleton !)

What is Zune you ask?  Zune is Microsoft’s way of incorporating nightlife and events with their Zune Ipod.  During the day, this former photo studio, is Microsoft’s office for Zune, and at night, for fun things like birthday parties, concerts, art exhibits, events, and more!

There are three different floors to explore and see all of the goodies that are up for decoration.  If you would like more info on this subject, call Zune LA at (323) 944 0702 or check out the space at is 8275 Beverly Blvd (although it is usually not open to just anyone.)

The bathrooms in Zune LA are very artsy and fun… we like creative bathrooms!

The themes for this gifting suite for me were: ADORABLE, MINIATURE, PETITE, CUTE LITTLE PACKAGING, AND PERSONALIZATION, all of which I and most girls love!

As I checked in, the first thing that hit me was the smell of something amazing…MINI DONUTS!

It turned out to be this adorable little station called, The Fry Girl.

I’m going to tell you a little story…. The Reekbok station was very popular on the day that I went.

The big to do with the Reebok station is that they are the original makers of this “gym-in-a-shoe sneaker” that many other brands are now copying (lame). I have worn these around a little and they are really cool because the rounded bottom makes every step you take essentially like walking up a stair. It’s the same principle as the elliptical machines at the gym and this shoe technology was actually originally developed by Reebok in-house scientist. This shoe with brains will minimize the workout and maximize the walking you already do with a sole that forces your muscles to tense and flex with every step you take.

Three adorable and talented ladies of Los Angeles held a chic art show last night at 8432 Melrose Place. Gia Coppola and Sage Grazer are both photographers and Tracy Antonopoulos is a filmmaker.

You know where else you’ll see foxtails on bags? Louis Vuitton added mangy tails to their sacs in their spring ad campaigns like this one from Vogue February 2010. My guess is the girls are carring 80s vintage Coach.

Also in attendance were friends of the young artists including Atlanta de Cadenet (daughter of Amanda de Cadenet and John Taylor from Duran Duran), Mike Moonves (son of Les), Nathalie Love (daughter of Vogue west coast editor Lisa Love, often featured on The Hills), Joe Jonas, Camilla Belle, and Charlie and Louie Eisner (children of Eric & Lisa Eisner who were also at the art show).

Brian Grazer (father of Sage) and Jacqui Getty (mother of Gia) along with Sophia Coppola (aunt of Gia) and Roman Coppola (uncle) were there to support. Demi Moore (friend of Jacqui) came too with Ashton Kutcher daughters Rumer and Tallulah Willis.

I went by to peruse the art and see friends, including Darren Romanelli, Seth Berman, Liz Goldwyn, and Lauren Brokaw. I thought a lot of the work was really cool. Sage’s photos were all small – 5×7 maybe. I have never seen scaled down work but it was nice and interesting for a change. I suppose you might not always want a huge photograph. Gia’s photos were interesting too. I thought her choice to mix sizes and eliminate frames was fresh and inviting. It really looked like you were floating through a cool collage of her scrapbooks. My favorite photo of hers was a New York Post cover of Lindsay Lohan and the case of stolen fur coat, on her floor.

Tracy Antonopoulos’ films in the back were positioned with headphones on 4 black tabletop stands and were all different. The cutest one starred her friend, Nathalie Love, who is the daughter of Lisa Love, who you often saw featured on The Hills when Lauren and Whitney were interning at Vogue – she is the one who gave Lauren a hard time about going to Paris when Lauren wanted to stay in Malibu for the summer with Jason – big mistake – huge!).

As the evening grew later, the girls ordered pizza. Adorable.
