How do you plan a Grammy’s party? Put away the salsa and learn …
1.) Rent a crane
2.) Tent a roof
3.) Invite the Biebs, Dr. Dre, Lady Gaga and anyone else you like on your label …
This week Best Events, Choura Events and Interscope are setting up for Jimmy’s (iovine) annual Grammy’s party. This year is especially important for them as they have lots of clients winning and performing at the show!
At the party, Gaga, Snoop and Dre all performed some old skool hits like Gin & Juice. The best part about this party was the crane needed to set up the rooftop event.
Choura Events was asked to create the party lounge for celes on the rooftop of the L’Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills. It was a logistically challenging job, as anything that couldn’t fit in the hotel elevator had to be hoisted in place for the party. The same was true for the breakdown, which had to be done quickly to restore use of the hotel’s rooftop pool.
A 265-ton hydraulic crane hoisted 60-foot pre-built tent beams up to the roof. There were three tents in all for the celebrity event; A 60’x40’, a 40’x85’ and a 30’x50’. All tents featured clear canopies to afford guests a spectacular view while partying. Keeping the crowd nice and chill were five 5 ton HVAC units.
Here are some photos of the huge hydraulic lift (exterior) and the resulting temp celeb lounge (interior).
