Black Swan

Out Little Truffle reports are IN from around the World and around Los Angeles …

Thursday, November 11, 2010:

Thursdays are always the busiest nights in Los Angeles! Last night in Hollywood, the premiere of Black Swan closed the AFI film festival at the Grauman’s Chinese and the after party across the street at the Roosevelt and the after-after party at Beachers Madhouse. As expected -cast members Mila Kunis (friend of the Truffle), Natalie Portman, Winona RyderVincent Cassel (obsessed!!) and Barbara Hershey turned up along with director Darren Aronofsky and studio execs from Fox, Tom Rothman and Nancy Utley and producer Mike Medavoy with wife Irena Medavoy (LA native!).

Other interesting attendees?? Rodarte designers Kate & Laura Mulleavy (Natalie Portman LOVES Rodarte), Sylvester Stallone, Dita Von Teese, Heidi Klum and Peter Fonda.

Seven (jeans) knows how to party. The jeans maker had two back to back parties to celebrate their 10 year Anniversary - first with Vanity Fair (Tuesday night) and then with Vogue Thursday night. Though not all mankind were invited, a cool thing about the Vogue dinner party was an installation set up in the home in Beverly Hills themed for the 7 senses … and you thought there were only 5!

Over at the Santa Monica airportSanrio held a VIP night to kick off their 9 day exhibit and carnival at the Barker Hanger.  The company has invited popular artists from around the world to collaborate in two standout art exhibitions: Small Gift Los Angeles and Small Gift Miami, during Art Basel. Small Gift Los Angeles is a 10 day carnival-style event open to the public Friday, November 12 – Sunday, November 21 at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. Small Gift Miami is the East Coast anchor event and will take place December 2 – 5, during Art Basel.

We love offspring! Sam Branson was in L.A. with his dad Richard Branson, and grandmother Eve Branson, for the family’s annual Rock The Kasbah gala.

The Los Angeles Opera often grabs a tenor or two and meets us half from the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for a little performance. Thursday, they teamed up with Stuart Weitzman on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills to put on a mini opera behind the store in the Rodeo Collection under the stars.

Earlier in the day, Neiman Marcus held a tea party for Ken Downing, a fashion week front row regular and fashion director for Neiman Marcus.

Down Burton Way at the SLS,  Three Day Rule founders Talia Goldstein (nee Berman) and Valerie Brennan are giving Patty (Millionaire Matchmaker) and Steve (Tough Love) a run for their money with their monthly match-making parties. The SLS was packed with well dressed singles looking to mingle.

Joaquin Phoenix, Luis Barajas, Amanda Demme at the Flaunt party at Chateau Marmont

Up at the Chateau Marmont, Flaunt Magazine. had a party – we noticed Joaquin Phoenix, Rain Phoenix, Flaunt founder Luis Barajas, friend of the Phoenix’s Amanda Demme and David Spade.

Elle magazine hosted a book launch for “ELLEments Of Personal Style” in Santa Monica – Daisy O’dell has the story on that!

And speaking of Rain Phoenix – she was performing at the REVOLVEclothing.com re-launch party (at Revolve on Melrose). Harley Viera Newton (LA Native) DJed. Also in the house was Lauren Bush.

BAMBI trophy winner Orlando Bloom attended the 2010 BAMBI Awards wearing Chopard’s Grand Prix de Monaco Historique watch.

And now for something a little different … the 2010 Bambi Awards were held in Germany on Thursday. This is the coolest awards show you’ve never heard of! And likely to have the best dressed attendee list too! Named after Bambi (yes, the deer) these awards honor media and TV influencers. You know it’s cool when Beth Ditto, SJP, Orlando Bloom and Karl Lagerfeld are the headliners! Another need-to-know fact is that the actual award itself, shape of BAMBI the deer, is manufactured by Chopard!! It doesnt get much more chic! See the winners.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010:

The biggest thing on our radar this eve was the Harry Potter premiere in London. The new Harry Potter movie will be in theaters nationwide this November 19th and you can buy advance tickets here (I recommend this).

Sony Internet TV (Sony Cierge) event at SOHO house

Also of note, the annual Victoria Secret Fashion Show in New York. The Princess Grace Awards Gala in New York were also held this eve. They are always at Cipriani’s and Caroline Grimaldi (that’s not her official title) is always in attendance.

In L.A., the LACMA Costume Council held a tea with aforementioned Ken Downing (fashion director for Neiman Marcus). The LACMA Costume Council is great and anyone can join – here is a link!!

Tuesday, November 9, 2010:

Fendi Casa held an event in Bel Air with Haute Living mag.

Monday, November 8, 2010:

Judith Leiber hosted a book launch for Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant, while a Bulgari fete raged across the street on Rodeo Drive.

Alessandra Balazs at the Chateau on Saturday

Saturday, November 6, 2010:

We celebrate Angie Banicki‘s “Sweet 16 x 2″ at Trousdale. Happy birthday darling. And to Michelle Marie & Tarynn Manning over in the H.Wood basement (shhh).

Earlier on Saturday, Valentino hosted a trunk show for moms and daughters at Chateau Marmont – even Chateau owner André Balazs‘ daughter, Alessandra Balazs, was there! Other interesting offspring include Jacqui Getty & daughter Gia Coppola, Kelly Lynch & daughter Shane Lynch, Eva & Asia Chow,  Lisa and daughters Nathalie & Laura Love, Shiva Rose & daughter Colette McDermott. Cute! Jessica Kantor (Harvard-Westlake) at Vogue has a great article on this.

Another very cool fete – although down in Mexico – was Jeremy Scott latest collaboration launch party with Adidas Originals Party.

Women in Hollywood Power List, Written by Nikki Finke

FacebookTwitterTumblrShare

Elle magazines has just released their annual power list, compiled by my personal hero Nikki Finke. I love you Nikki!! She dedicated one whole section among actors, agents, lawyers, to just “The Murdochs” … lol. Elle had a party at the Four Seasons here in Beverly Hills a couple weeks ago to fete the women … I really must say most of these women on here are not what I expect but if Nikki says it’s true I suppose we all better read and learn … the Talent section is particularly telling of the times – Noomi Rapace (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) & Rooney Mara (The Social Network) are pegged as the next go-to girl for leading lady roles, Snooki is on there (!!), as well as our hero Chelsea Handler, the new Wonder Woman (eh), and all right next to Angelina Jolie and Diane Keaton. Read the best ones here …

Elle Magazine Women in Hollywood Party at the Four Seasons

FacebookTwitterTumblrShare

Missing LA peeps but a good mix of publicists, agents and celebs attended Elle magazine’s 17th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute yesterday at the Four Seasons near The Daily Truffle headquarters.

A week and a half off their last event held at the Palihouse in Hollywood with Express, this time around the guest went from young Hollywood to ALL of Hollywood and read like a box office who’s who – Gwenyth Paltrow, Jake Gyllenhaal, Hilary Swank, Jodie Foster, Emma Roberts, mother daughter duo Kate Hudson & Goldie Hawn were all in attendance.

Funny man Adam Shankman hosted the soiree and kept the crowd laughing until late in the evening. Doors for the dinner opened around 8pm and the nominees took podium to accept their awards. LA favorites David Yurman and son Evan Yurman (formerly a race car driver who recently joined the family business) were also present to showcase their most recent designs.

More cool guests we saw: Amanda de Cadenet, Annette Bening, Calvin Klein and his creative director Francisco Costa, Elle mag’s Joe Zee, Tara Subkoff, Michelle Trachtenberg, Molly Sims, Diane Keaton, Diane Kruger, Elle Fanning, Goldie Hawn, Gwyneth Paltrow, Harrison Ford, Kate Hudson, Kathryn Bigelow, Quentin Tarantino, Sam Rockwell, Sofia Coppola and Stephen Dorff, Anna Kendrick, Dree Hemingway, Erika Christensen, etc.

LA Native Jake Gyllenhaal (Harvard-Westlake ’97) was spotted later by our little Truffle Hunters at the Mumford and Sons concert at the Palladium‏.

Bev Hills: Christmas lunch at Spago, Christmas shopping at the Wine Merchant

FacebookTwitterTumblrShare

I just had lunch with my dad and sister at Spagos in BH and afterwards we walked around before retourne a la offeeeese! My dad’s bestie, attorney Don Fenmore, came too and brought along his little girl, who is actually my “big sister” cause she is older than me, Miss Tanya Fenmore who I always love to see. Tanya has two degrees from Harrrrrvud, and now works in film. She told us all about the new reality show she is developing [more to come later]. My sister Yvette got me a stuffed bunny for Christmas and our dad ordered him carrots. Everyone kept asking me why I brought my raggedy old stuffed animal to lunch and we were all VERY insulted.

Outside we ran into L.A. Natives Alex Klein (left) and Matt Klein (right) with their dad (middle). They are our neighbors in Malibu, went to Campbell and work in their family's seafood business - What a couple of hot catches!!

After lunch we went to the Wine Merchant to buy presents. I got in trouble for taking pictures but then I bought a crate of “splits” for my mom’s birthday (my mom LOOOVESSSS splits) coming up on Dec 30th and I think the ‘wine merchant’ was proud of my selection and forgave me. Note: My favorite thing in the world is a big giant crate of anything miniature. Then the fabulous director of beverages from across the street at the Montage, Dave Wallace came in and BOUGHT THE EXACT SAME CRATE!!! I said “OH! You’re buying a crate of the wine I just bought a crate of!” I thought it was so random, yet so astute of me to be choosing the same BOX! the Montage made a special trip over because they ran out. I was very proud of myself. The beverage director invited me to come have a glass of wine with him any time and I think I just might. He was at the Laguna Montage before this and came up here to open up Beverly Hills. He told me the hotel is at 100+ capactiy all Christmas. Which means there are 100 people on the waiting list through New Years! Anyone on the list, if you love the Montage as much as I do, you can come stay with me and my mom in our Pied a Tier on Burton … just a few blocks East!

Outside the Wine Merchant we ran into Arthor Sarkissian. Not only is he the talented producer of While You Were Sleeping and ALL the Rush Hours, he is also the father of my step siblings. Arthor was getting his glasses fixed at Luxurator by Franco … Arthor has impecable taste and everyone should do everything he does. If I have glasses one day I am definitely taking them here.

Pretty interior inside Luxurator by Franco - the material is Hermes organce snake or maybe crocodile

I also saw this really strange car outside Spago and after wondering if it was the new Fisker or some wierd thing, the Valet told me it was kit car but I am looking into and will have a lisense plate check run and post more if it’s worth knowing about.
