Weekly Juice: Music Center Names New Board, Sting Party in Malibu, Golden Globe Week Begins

FacebookTwitterTumblrShare

Welcome to Golden Globes week in Los Angeles. Thus begins a week of gifting, hoopla and media pre-coverage for the upcoming GG celebration. Our pick for suites to visit this week is the Access Hollywood event at the Sofitel which we will tell you more about on Saturday when we go.

Last night, the first of the week’s festivities began with Audi’s party at Cecconi’s which honored all the noms. If you live in L.A., you are probably accustomed by now to see a bunch of Audi buzzing around West Hollywood during the Emmys, Oscars and other awards weeks. This week will be no exception – you can expcet to see Audi’s usual promotion, who teams up with PMK BNC to chaffuer celebrities (ideally nominees), between gift lounges, pre-parties, the actual awards and after parties. So, if you see a new model black A8 Audis with tinted windows and no license plates at the valet pick up or at a red light this week, chances are there is a celeb in back (or a friend of a celeb that is being wooed). Audi’s 2010 Super Bowl party: Kellan Lutz, Taylor Lautner, Jessica Alba, Rob Lowe & Hilary Swank

FacebookTwitterTumblrShare

I am officially over Sundance, Grammys and the Globes and before I gear up for New York Fashion Week, Valentine’s Day and Oscar week, I think we can all use a much appreciated breathe of fresh air from some down home, salt of the eath, all American, ma and pa, mom’s apple pie, firemen and cowboy, little league and hot dog, Walmart, team spirit, blue states, fly-over states, painted chests and foam fingering, good old fashion FOOTBALL!

Yes it’s Super Bowl Sunday in two days and while the rest of America is gearing up for a day of nachos, beer and cheese, my friends are flying down to Miami in private jets to host and attend the weekend’s hottest parties, sponsored by brands who are vying to get their spot in the sunshine from the 100 Million viewers who tune in. As someone who simply CANNOT pay attention to football unless there are a million other reasons to, I am particularly grateful to Audi, Coach, Cafeina, Tao, Maxim, Venus Williams, Pete Wentz, and Tide Febreeze who have given me something to care about and who understand the art of a good party and thankfully hire the right people to do the inviting! (ehem BNC, Michelle S, Ashlee A, Nick D).

Jessica Alba, Taylor Lautner, Hilary Swank, Kate Walsh, Tinsley Mortimer, Kellan Lutz, Rob Lowe (with his son who he is bringing to the big game on Sunday), Lance Bass, Osi Umenyiora of the New York Giants, and Chad Henne of the Miami Dolphins are all in Miami tonight to attend Audi’s kick off party at the W Hotel in South Beach. They were all shuttled in by Audi Q7 TDI clean diesel SUV – Audi’s new green car. Audi will also feature another new green car – their eco-friendly A3 TDI in a Super Bowl commercial premier during the Super Bowl. FYI – I live (LIVE!!) for commercial premieres! LIVE! The Audi commercial is a tongue-in-cheek spot with an updated classic song by Cheap Trick.

Jessica Alba, who had her daughter Honor is with her, says she’s pulling for the Saints – her father is a longtime Reggie Bush fan. (The little one will not attend the game – the stadium is too big for little girls!)

Kate Walsh and Hilary Swank have an on-going battle to see who could text the fastest – Hilary says she can text with her eyes closed without any mistakes. Lauren Brokaw, a Daily Truffle blogger, can do this too while talking and walking. I’ve seen it, and it is syck! Take that Swank! They should all enter LG’s national texting competition this year. Dorks. http://www.lgtexter.com/

Next stop?

1.) Maxim party

2.) Tao Miami at the the W

3.) Nick D’Annunzio’s parties at Cafeina – Feb. 5 & 6

4.) Coach’s Sake and Sushi party at The Townhouse

5.) Tide and Venus Williams product launch for Febreeze on the tennis courts at the W with Pete Wentz and Solange Knowles
