The Concorso d’Eleganza is held once a year at my favourite hotel in Italy – Villa d’Este (also where George Lucas placed the love scenes in the last 3 Star Wars). The car show, limited to vintage cars, is perhaps the most significant of all events in the car world and makes one feel lame for being able to point to Pebble Beach on a map. Since 1929, the “Concorso d’Eleganza” at Villa d’Este has maintained authentic aristocracy rather than the commercial atmosphere of other car shows.
I had no idea one could FedEx a car but that’s how the Kalikows got their Momo to Como. Nic Kalikow and his father – Peter Kalikow, an avid vintage New York car collector, are taking their self-made limited run (only 6 were ever made) 1972 Momo Mirage to show in the “Italian Body” category.

Peter Kalikow's Momo at Villa d'este this year
Last year they walked away with Best in Class for thier ’58 Ferrari. Here is Nic Kalikow’s report:
“I flew in to Modena (where Ferrari is based) and stayed the night.”
