THIS WILL NOT BE A DATE I WILL BE LATE FOR!
I CANNOT WAIT! ALICE IN WONDERLAND IS ALMOST FINALLY HERE!
Above is Jefferson Airplane’s, White Rabbit (Go Ask Alice) with images from the upcoming film. I have provided some listening music for you during your read…I know, so thoughtful, right?!
If you have been following my posts for the past few months, you know my obsession with the upcoming film, Alice in Wonderland, and anything that has to do with it.
Here are some of the things I have posted about, including a few new ones !
Tom Binns is my favorite costume jewelry designer like EVErrrr, so when I learned of his collaboration with Disney Couture a few months ago I became very impatient from anticipation.
I had absolutely no clue what ideas he conjure up with the Cheshire Cat, Alice, the Eat Me phrase, the Red Queen, White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, etc!
I loveee Disney Couture’s ideas and their amazing attention to detail in their pieces (I own quite a few) and Tom Binns is King Brilliant, but you already knew that!
I hope you enjoy my homage to Tom Binns and Disney !
“The limited edition Tom Binns for Walt Disney Signature will consist of six high fashion pieces, which will retail from $1,000 to $2,000 at luxury retailers and fine boutiques nationwide. A more affordable collection, dubbed Tom Binns for Disney Couture will include 35 pieces designed in collaboration with Lucas Design International will retail from $100- $500; it will be available at department stores and specialty boutiques. Both collections will make their debut in Spring 2010.
“The story is full of very iconic images, so it wasn’t difficult to find symbols that represent the stories – like the Mad Hatter’s top hat and the watch, as time is a big reference point for the story. In fact, every scene in the book has something iconic that would represent it from start to finish,” says Tom, confessing he could easily have made 200 pieces. Tom Binns told the New York Times T-Magazine, “For her necklace, I interspersed red lacquered hearts with vicious little pins and thorns. With ‘Alice,’ I could be my mad self, but in the context of Tim Burton’s ‘Alice,’ my madness actually seemed rather tame.”“It’s nice to have large-scale pieces and little bits that everyone can own. I don’t think of jewelry as being that precious,” said Binns.”

Alice in Versace Land
The inspiration for Versace’s Spring/Summer 2010 runway collection, is the upcoming Alice in Wonderland, Directed by Tim Burton. Donatella described her show as, “Alice in Wonderland in a Baroque world.”Ms. Versace has been a fan of Never Land for a long time, in fact, it is her favorite fantasy land.Up close, some of the fabrics are adorned with pocket watches, rabbits, playing cards, hearts, baroque curlicues, butterflies, and mushrooms.I loved this collection because it brought a younger, more hip feeling to Versace. (No more tacky, obnoxious 80’s feel). My only complaint is that Nana, the children’s maid and dog, was not involved. (wait, did I mix up my lands?) Next stop……My idea of Donatella in Wonderland !

Urban Decay for Alice in Wonderland

Urban Decay for Alice in Wonderland
I love that they included the Urban Decay Eye Potion again; it is one of the best products makeup products.
These colors are really great because they are very rich in pigment and come out the exact color that you see in front of you.

While getting my nails done yesterday, I came across the pop up above in my nail salon, and was very elated! How cute ?!?
I LOVE that Disney is doing different partnerships for the new Alice in Wonderland movie.
The Colors
Absolutely Alice: An absolutely amazing blue glitter that celebrates Alice’s ability to see something classic from a different perspective
Off with her red! A glowing, empowering hot red reminiscent of the Queen of Hearts, who would much rather be feared than loved.
Thanks so muchness! … For this ”much-have” red shimmer- as classic and timeless as this famous children’s story, with a subtle sheen that sets it apart
Mad as a hatter: A madly marvelous black-multi glitter that reminds us of the Mad Hatter’s creative madness
