Another Academy Awards evening at Sir Elton John’s Oscar Party … This year, I took along Jessica Nagel (publicist for J. Mendel), Flo Fulton (President of Events at Nike Communications) who flew in from New York, and a couple others —  all clad in J. Mendel including myself — of course I wanted to represent since I sit on the Board of Directors for J. Mendel and what better place to wear one of Gilles’ [Gilles Mendel, heir apparent and designer of J. Mendel] beautiful gowns. We had a running joke all evening that we were the J. Mendel table.

Relativity Media Post Oscar Party — Waffles, Check-Points, and more

With a call time that read ‘Eleven O’Clock Until Sunrise’, the check point upon confirmation of your RSVP was revealed to be the DGA building on Sunset Blvd.

A completely organized group of 300+ guests parked on the second floor of the DGA parking lot guided by security who directed people to take the elevator to the ground floor where a completely silent (or worn-out from previous parties) line of party-goers in head-to-toe black tie sprawled the perimeter of the lot leading up to the check-in table.

White vans with tinted windows took guests from the DGA to the ’round house’ on Mount Olympus — you can see from Fairfax driving North — all lit up in red. At the drive-way, black wristbands were cut and a rather steep hike to the Alert / Relativity / Veev sponsored party began.

Auto Gallery x McLaren Showroom Grand Opening in Beverly Hills

To introduce McLaren’s new road car, the MP4-12C, to LA’s top car collectors and enthusiasts, British exotic automaker has partnered with The Auto Gallery to open a dealership in Beverly Hills, and hosted a grand opening to draw LA’s car world to the new showroom. The MP4-12C is McLaren’s first road vehicle since their collaboration with Mercedes Benz to produce the  McLaren Mercedes SLR. McLaren CEO Ron Dennis, based in London, flew in to explain this to the crowd which included: Bruce Meyer – who has one of the largest car collections in L.A. and founded the 1199 Foundation, David Sydorick – board member of Petersen Museum’s Checkered Flag Club whose car collection is easily worth 100M, Jay Leno – who keeps many cars from his vast collection stored in the Petersen vault, Ron Burkle – local billionaire and current resident of Greenacres estate, and car collectors Tonya & Jim Hull who live in Malibu and are also a part of the Checkered Flag Club. Also at the party, Mark Alfano — who runs Michael Hammer’s car collection (now based in Montecito since Michael moved it from his Culver City building which he now rents to RM Auctions for their space … Mark was en route to Las Vegas for a motorcycle auction and then the Scottsdale car auction which will set the tone for the rest of the car auction for the entire year — he will be looking for new additions for Michael’s collection). #TruffleNotes: Michael Hammer is Amie Hammer’s dad! What is “The Vogue 100″? Meet one of them at this Dior hosted event!! [SLIDESHOW]

Class was in session at the Dior store on Rodeo Drive thanks to Vogue and the magazine’s ambassadors — co-hosts Angelique Soave and Christine Chiu, both part of the Vogue 100.

What is the Vogue 100, you ask? Well, 100 women around the US who Vogue finds intriguing and represents the modern day Vogue woman. Vogue 100 women are tastemakers, stylemakers, and influencers living the Vogue lifestyle; they are usually actively involved in the arts, fashion, and of course, philanthropy. Vogue 100 members are asked to host Vogue events throughout the country, and invite their friends. Monthly “care packages” are sent to the ladies containing handbags, accessories, beauty products, and even clothing from the Vogue closet. If clothing lines were debs and store openings were deb balls, Rebbeca Taylor had her West Coast ‘coming out’ last night. Pretty in bows, jumpsuits and booties, Mrs. Taylor enlisted the help of LA girls to suit up in some of her hallmarks designs. Those girls included Rashida Jones in a navy RB jumpsuit, and Kristen Bell — who both who created one-of-a-kind tote bags that were (silent) auctioned off at Rebecca Taylor’s opening.
