Nicole Richie’s, House of Harlow 1960, expands into handbags

Nicole Richie can now add hand bag designer to her C.V.  The LA native announced today that come mid July a 14 piece collection including clutches, cross body, and hobo bags will be available at Shopbop, Bergdorf’s, Neiman’s, Nordstrom and fine online e-commerce sites.

Richie, mother of two, designs shoes, jewelry, and sunglasses under the House of Harlow 1960 brand in addition to her flowy bohemian inspired Winter Kate line.

While I am not usually dying for anything HOH, I am def excited for this off shoot as the prices are reasonable for the Alexander McQueen/ Judith Leiber ish detailed style inspiration… with that Nicole Richie aesthetic.

Prices range from $150-625.

I’ll be taking one of each.

Gad midsommar! What better way to spend Midsummer, the oh so magical Swedish holiday, than to eat, drink, and be merry with Jeremy Scott and Kanon Organic Vodka at the Sunset Marquis Hotel. The North Villa Gardens at the Sunset Marquis were the perfect setting for this ethereal luncheon, honoring the very important Swedish holiday marking the astronomical beginning of Summer which also celebrates fertility, magic, and love. I couldn’t have asked for a better Midsummer thanks to great company, most delicious food (SMH, who knew?!), and specialty drinks for our 3 course luncheon.

SOOO excited to see what Trent Reznor (NIN) and Atticus Ross are cooking up for the o.s.t (original soundtrack) to David Fincher’s remake or whatever you want to call it of Stieg Larsson’s, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, set for a December 2011 release and starring Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara and Stellan Skarsgård.

I got chills as I heard a cover of Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant song at the start the trailer, ONLY to find out that it’s rock/fashion goddess Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeah’s).  Let me tell you, this song MAKES the trailer – What do you think?? Click to Continue Reading

It’s NO secret that a lot of my favorite music acts from the past two years hail from Sweden. Ab-fab distillery Kanon Vodka hosted an after party for songstress Lykke Li (they call her an FOK – friend of Kanon) at Bar Marmont last night following her show at the Wiltern Theater.  Kanon is always involved with the best of the best party-wise and is so hyper current with film, fashion, music, photographers, it’s scary… An ORGANIC vodka company after my own heart! Oh, you know I totes HAD to attend.

Yesterday, New York native, Ms. Gaga took to the streets of NYC, Midtown to be exact, to promote her latest CD, Born This Way, on Letterman.  Upon looking at pics of Gaga, I couldn’t help but notice the resemblance to kooky fashion veteran and blogger extraordinaire, Diane Pernet. Two peas (or turbans) in a pod!

The Minx manicure is what started my whole diy nail insanity! You know Minx, worn by avid fans such as Katy Perry, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Eve, Megan Fox, Mariah Carrey, Blake Lively, Fergie, etc…. A few weeks ago, I went to Extremedy’s nail salon, in West Hollywood, for a professional Minx mani. While I was happy with the results, I knew I could do the same thing myself – Cut to a few days later when I randomly go into Sephora and see that they teamed up with Minx and Opi to make the same sorta thing. L.A. Natives on the White House lawn after Osama Bin Laden news break

Mike McGuiness, in D.C. for the White House Correspondence Dinner, gather on the White House front lawn

If you read the Daily Truffle regularly, you know by now we have eyes on the ground anywhere anything important is happening!

We have friends/lovers/cousins/exes in Washington D.C. this weekend ready to report from the White House lawn where thousands have gathered out of excitement over President Obama‘s announcement of Osama bin Laden‘s death. U.S. forces killed bin Laden along with two other people with him who were residing in a Pakistan compound for the last several months. Bin Laden’s son who was with him is confirmed dead too.

Thanks to my bestie Sabrina Yadegar Daneshgar (Beverly Hills high school) and her hubby Adam Daneshgar for the pics from the White House lawn! Sabrina, Adam and lots of other L.A. natives were in Washington D.C. this weekend for the first annual Sweet Green Music Festival, put together by L.A. prep school alum Jon Neman (Beverly Hills high school).

Another friend of the Truffle Mike McGuiness, was in D.C. to attend the White House Correspondence Dinner with pal David Arquette. The two also attended the Sweet Green Music Festival where The Strokes headlined.
