Sorry for the delay but we don’t post on Mondays or before noon … Last Saturday was the annual Power of Comedy hosted by Variety (which was just sold to the unstoppable Jay Penske who immediately laid off the staff. The event took place at Avalon Hollywood or as well like to call it the big space below the old Bardot.
#TruffleNotes: Jay also owns of Nikki Finke and a bunch of other sites — and for those who really know him well, his passion project Dragon Books in the Glen Center.
The event was celebrating the most popular man in Hollywood Seth MacFarlane who is due in next month for his Annual Star Wars Christmas party.

The Power of Comedy event brings up comedians, gets them drunk and makes them read off teleprompters. Here’s who made us laugh: Bill Maher, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel McHale, Chris D’Elia, Eric Andre, Max Greenfield, Nick Kroll, Paul Scheer, Anthony Jeselnik and Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey. Also spotted: the real Batman aka Adam West and Seth Green.

Observations:
- Seth MacFarlane defies his publicist and brought a glass of whiskey on stage.
- Jerry Ferrara is svelte; was there with his Entourage cast mate Sloane.
- Joel McHale was overheard saying he fills his Thxgiving turkey with whiskey and drinks it. Don’t try that at home kids.
