A possible marriage between Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art could see a dedicated film museum called the “Academy Museum of Motion Pictures“ built in the corner building of the LACMA campus (on Fairfax & Wilshire). LACMA has also been holding a screening series this fall w/ Film Independent which has hosted the world premiere of The Rum Diary, and screenings of other current hot titles like Shame and Martha Marcy May Marlene. Ticket’s to tonight’s event were purchasable starting at $5000. Stevie Wonder performed.
