Party Lists: Emmys 2011

63rd Annual Emmy Awards Sunday, Sept. 18 at 8E/5P Hosted by Jane Lynch & Adam Scott

We must take this moment to congratulate the BAFTA team for finally moving their annual tea party out of century city. This year, they will have it (next Saturday afternoon) at the L’Ermitage on Burton Way which has recently become extremely party-friendly since their sale to Viceroy (the name will remain L’Ermitage) having hosted weddings, Grammys parties and film shoots – something the old Raffles L’ermitage never allowed.

In order to appease the neighbors, the hotel has started bi-weekly rooftop yoga classes to those who might otherwise give [name omitted] at the city a call. The neighbor-friendly policy has allowed them to have a 265-ton hydraulic crane parked for a week on Burton Way to set up for Jimmy Iovine’s Interscope/Grammys Party, film Just Go With It with Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler and host the annual Angeleno Pool party just last month.

As for most everyone else, all is status quo – Grey Goose and Audi will be the biggest things you hear this week – right after Boardwalk Empire and Game Of Thrones (Audi hosted their annual pre-party at Cecconi’s last night and will be shuttling around celebrities to various parties this weekend and Grey Goose basically sponsors every party mentioned in this post – as well as the actual Emmys).

The nominees reception will happen again this friday at the PCD (the Harry & David coffee cart at the valet last year tickled us!), Jeffrey Katzenberg will do his usual evening before on the CAA lawn and according to Variety … NBC (at Spago), HBO (at PDC), ET (at Vibiana, where Stevie Nicks is set to perform (last year they had Cyndi Lauper)), Entertainment Weekly (at Boa), Art of Elysium (at the London) and the official after party (yawn) at the LA convention center (double yawn) are happening again – all the same venues as last year. We have also heard Lorne Micheals is also planning his usual Emmys Party for 30 Rock, which he produces.

The lounges are back on this year with the Eco Emmys Lounge in Hancock Park, Kari Feinstein‘s Style Lounge in Beverly Hills and the HBO lounge in the Four Seasons as usual.

The one new venture on the map we’ve heard about from Mikey Glazer at theinsider.com is AMC (Mad Men) who has been smart enough to take notice of Mr. C – the new hotel and resto on Pico Blvd and Beverwil Drive in Beverly Hills. The ill-located hotel makes up for it’s Pico ties with a stately arrival in which all the cars pull in the European-esque driveway FACING the hotel – which you never see (the easier call and better use of space is to pull in along side the hotel, but Mr. C understands the impact of a first impression and sacrifices an extra bungalow to make a statement and a statement it does make). The massive amount of valet, completely open hotel front, wooden pool decks and general good taste of the hotel design makes this a truffle fave (doesnt hurt that we heart the owners as well).

We shall be at the Emmys rehearsals this Saturday for some fun and behind the scenes sneak peeks (as you know at the truffle – we skip the red carpet in favor of the secret alley entrance every time but don’t worry, we have truffle hunters at the Emmys and parties as well).
