We came, we saw, we partied way after closing.
Down the alley, up the stairs, through the kitchen (La Esquina style) to Paul&Andre’s we go! Once past the unisex bathroom, you will find yourself in a dark, dirty and debaucherous lair, where YOU can mash potato, and do the splits – and trust me baby, you will like it like this!
Anything goes at Paul Sevigny and Andre Saraiva‘s new Hollywood spot, Paul&Andre, aka “L.A. Baron”. Just open for a few Oscar parties, P&A will officially open in the next few weeks. (I would elaborate on this anything goes concept, but I shall just bite my tongue, as I am no whistle blower!)
The construction of P&A consists of 3 rooms, one long bar in the first and main room, an amazing unisex bathroom where people were randomly hanging out next to an industrial kitchen, and a dj booth that faces a small-ish dance floor. Careful, this joint is very dark, watch your step as the dark maroon-ish decor will not help you see your way any better!
I could go on and on about the two involved in this event, but I shall just give you the short version … If you happen to live under a rock. Paul and Andre are nightlife entrepreneurs; Paul is known for being a Dj as well as owning NY spots such as Beatrice Inn, Kenmare, and Don Hills, while Andre is an artist and owns various clubs such as Paris Paris, Le Montana, and the three Le Barons in Tokyo, Paris, and (when it finally opens) New York. You might also recognize Andre’s street art persona, Mr. A, from the streets of Paris or from the Belvedere IX series.
*Side notes* Andre was married to French electro singer Uffie, + was also on camera for the Banksy/Mr. Brainwash docu, Exit Through The Gift Shop.
You know the drill by now …
The deets:
Calling all Europeans!
Kind of cool that Oliver Zahm slash Purple Magazine had an event in L.A., and was able to have it at his close friends’ new spot. I always want L.A. to have a little bit more N.Y.C. fashion/art/nightlife in it, and who better to bring it then the guys listed above? They were successful, as I felt like I was in NY!
A lot of people I had spoken with earlier at Soho House had never heard of Purple Magazine, which was shocking to me. I almost felt like I should be doing a PSA, but instead of Public, it would be Purple!
(Here is a mention I did of Olivier in 2009)

The oh so eclectic crowd was offered the delish drinks above, hosted by Svedka. Gold star for the use of Ginger Beer, we love itttt, especially in drinks at the Thirsty Crow in Silverlake.
