Weekly Juice: Degen Pener to Hollywood Reporter, Montage GM to Hillcrest Country Club, Angie Banicki Sweet 16 (x2), ‘New York Parties Private Views’ book launch party

We are still in shock over Degen Pener’s departure from Angeleno to the new Hollywood Reporter. To make matters even more shocking, Merle Ginsberg has joined them too. Her website FashionRules, speaks off the cuff about style events they’re invited to or hear about – we hope nothing will change there! Degen came to Angeleno in 2007 and was very much the face of the magazine and at every interesting party in town. He is well known for spotting chic Los Angeles newcomers from Europe and San Fransisco. He is now the “culture editor” at THR.

More shocking is the recent hotel GM who’s gone Country Club! Ali Kasikci, the former GM for the Peninsula in Beverly Hills who left them to open the Montage one miles away has recently left the Montage to go over to Hillcrest Country Club!! Wow! Just to educate you on how shocking this is – The New York Post wrote a whole thing about his move from the Peninsula to Montage when it happened.  A move to a one of LA’s best country clubs …? Well, that’s just headline news!

Also … Michelle Marie, host at our friend RJ WilliamsYoung Hollywood website, is leaving … to prusue freelance work which means we could still see her on www.younghollywood.com. RJ is also an LA Native, and went to Crossroads. Michelle turns xx this weekend and is having with Taryn Manning this weekend … Happy Birthday, love!

While we are on birthday news … Angie Banicki is having a Sweet 16 x 2 party this weekend, an elegant way to say you’re 32!!

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting a new L.A. real estate show from HGTV called “Selling Los Angeles” that will track three boutique real estate agencies battling to sell high-end properties. All a little strange because we already have a reality real estate TV show with 3 high end realators called “Million Dollar Listing” soooo … by the way – the reality stars of this show  -  Madison Hildebrand, Chad Rogers, and Josh Flagg – are all L.A. natives. via THR

A tea was held at Neiman Marcus yesterday for Elle Decor‘s Jamee Gregory who has assembled my dream book of party breakdowns in NY. According to W magazine, Jamee goes into each home of a well-known philanthropist and gets the details on the planning, guest lists, and prep for each fete. New book is called “New York Parties Private Views” via W magazine

The GAP will show a holiday capsule collection with Valentino later this month. via Blackbook

Lanvin coming to Rodeo? According to the empty storefront that now reads: Lanvin, yes they are!

Liz Goldwyn’s (Westlake) book “Pretty Things” is finally out in paperback! She told me this week it will be in stores soon but in the meantime you can find it on Amazon.

Last year, Julian’s auction crated the contents of Michael Jackson’s Neverland estate down to the Robinsons May building for a few previews and an auction that never happened after Colony Capital came to the last minute rescue of MJ just before his death, which put the auction back on the table. This year Julians will hold a Johnny Cash auction in the old Sothebys space on Bedford.

Jared Eng (j’adore) posted this little gem about L.A. native Jake Gyllenhaal (Harvard-Westlake) wearing a pink silly band. Here’s the thing – Jake is wearing his Silly Band in a non-committal way. This is how you wear them if you’ve just been given on by your niece or child … the proper way to do the look is seen above on a 10 year old’s wrist. You must pile on!

The Beverly Hills Women’s Club will be hosting a tea with Tiffany & Co. next week.

Janie Bryant, Mad Men costumer, is hosting a launch party for her new book at Judith Leiber next week.

Decadestwo is popping up at the Brentwood Country Mart and having a dinner party Crusteacean first to celebrate – hosted by their friends the Ans – who also own the restaurant.
