Nostalgia may not be a frequent past time for most of our audience but take a trip with me and let your imagination roam … ! The lobby of the Chateau is always a good start to any party and it was the perfect setting for Cherry Vanilla‘s reading of her recently released memoir, “Lick Me“, last evening … It was like a slumber party, tho mom may not have approved on the bedtime stories; Cherry recalled her first sexual encounter with David Bowie whilst promoting him as a US newcomer to the blossoming rock scene (mind you, Bowie‘s wife at the time, Angela was in the house and remains a dear pal of Cherry’s …!). Sharp, funny and romantic in that fantastic debauch manner that can only be reminisced by a certain generation, we were all in awe; not to mention envious for such a naive yet dangerous way of living!

After the bedtime story telling came the lullaby… and who better to lull us but the marvelous Rufus Wainwright, who also wrote the introduction for the book. He just always hits the right note (no pun intended), sending us off with Leonard Cohen‘s Allelujiah…
