Last year we spied then newcomer Armie Hammer on Gossip Girl as Gabriel Edwards - ponzi scheming boyfriend of “fauxcialite” Poppy Lifton.
But what makes us really interested in Armie is that he is an L.A. native. Born and raised in Los Angeles, the 24 year old actor still lives in L.A. with his wife Elizabeth Chambers who he married in 2010, and met through his best friend artist Tyler Ramsey.
Armie grew up between Los Angeles, Dallas, Cayman Islands (ages 7 – 13) and is named for his late great-grandfather, Armand Hammer, a local philanthropist, business tycoon, Angeleno and Fabergé egg collector. Armie’s father is a local car collector.
Armie attended Grace Christian Academy in Cayman Islands (a grade school his father started (!)), and L.A. Baptist High School and Calvary Junior high in L.A. During the college years, he went to Pasadena City College and UCLA; eventually dropping out to pursue acting.
Armie has one brother (21) who is a business major at college.

I so want to hate this man but IT’S JUST NOT POSSIBLE!
As I look at these pics all I can think of is Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
These two should star in a movie based on 50 Shades of Grey.
We have not had a star like this in over 70 years…… God bless Armie Hammer and thank the heavens he chose acting… Exactly what he was supposed to do. Armies beautiful, soulful, commanding dark chocolate, voice runs shivers up both sexes spins, for different reasons. At 6’5, copper/blond hair and gray blue eyes, Armie commands attention while on screen and anyone who knows what real, raw talwent is will not turn a blind eye to this growing star. The role of 50 Shades Christian Grey is up for grabs and no one, but none one but Armie Hammer should play Christian Grey… There is no other who could play this role as he could, brining Christian to life as he shiuld be. He exemplifies the dark and light personality of C.Grey as he proved he could by highlighting his controlled, classy, gentleman-like behavior in “The Social Network” and his light, committed side in “Mirror Mirror.” He is C.Grey, no doubt about it…. It’s unfortunate that a role like this could ruin his career, brand him forever as Mr.Grey and he may never be able move on–That I do not want as he is by far the first “real” male actor that has all the ingrediants to win oscar after oscar since Marlon Brando and James Dean. A star has been born, let us pray he can play Christian Grey, as this role was made for him, then break the mold of that role and make hundreds of amazing movies once the trilogy is over. Universal, you would be making the biggest mistake by casting Ryan Gossling, Simon Baker etc…. As they are fab, but they are NOT Christian Grey…… If Armie is not available or turns it down or is not asked, I hope they find an unknown that will do as good or better job because there is no one in Hollywood that has what it takes to play this role but ARMIE HAMMER.
