Vanessa Bruno’s Melrose F/W 2010 Breakfast

Ce matin (this morning), I had a delightful Parisian breakfast with a bunch of eclectic fashionistas. While I’m sure some of you were at Temple, I attended a breakfast for Vanessa Bruno to debut her Autumn/Winter collection for a small group of fashion insiders at her recently-opened boutique located at 8448 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood.

This breakfast also showed an amazing short fashion film, called “Day For Night”, a four-minute homage to the brand that celebrates the third collaboration between the designer’s muse (actress/singer Lou Doillon) and French director Stephanie Di Giusto.  Short fashion films are the newest IT thing these days, with Rodarte, Prada, and Marni, just to name a few.  Diane Pernet and Nick Knight are the ones who exploited this new trend, n’est pas?

If you haven’t been to this store yet, you must go shop a.s.a.p.  Why, you ask? First off, you can virtually walk in and shop for any occasion, as well as being able to walk in and walk out with a whole outfit + accessories.  I loveee how you can find tall boots, half boots, sandals, and pumps to go with a dress, skirt and top, top and pants, leggings, top and sorts, and camisole for under any of that, and wear that with a coat or blazer, to ultimately finish off the outfit with gorgeous purses in all different sizes and materials.

Things I’m obsessed with and will own: This seasons hottest item, black leather shorts, sherling boots, thigh high cashmere socks, wool mini skirt, lace-y dresses, dainty blouses, and crazyy cute leggings in all different fabics. Yes, brilliant I know, you can thank me later.

The posh crowd nibbled on croissants and baguette avec different Parisian jams, as they drank their morning coffee or tea.  Guests included: Linlee Allen (PR Director and friend of the Truffle), fashion designer and friend Jasmine Shokrian, model Michelle Hicks, Shiva Rose, photographer Tierney Gearon, actress Sienna Guillory, and designer Jesse Kamm.

Of course I never leave any clothing store empty handed, J’ai achete une jupe noir (I bought a black skirt).  Let’s not forget the amazing gift bag, which consisted of a grey canvas (signature Vanessa Color) cosmetics bag and chic tote with Lou Doillon on it, which I will be using when I go to NY next week.

C’est top !
