Chris gettin ready at Paramount party
Every studio lot has a New York street on the lot – somewhere that looks like a random street in NYC but it’s actually just a facade and they use it for quick shoots here and there but more commonly the studios rent them out for cool parties.
Last night PMK/BNC and Activision got together to transform New York street on Paramount’s backlot to bring back for one-night only CBGB’s (RIP) to set the scene for Soundgarden to perform and celebrate their collaboration with the latest installation of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.
Gene Simmons and son Nick Simmons were there – you will note the photo of Gene with the notorious Jesus dresser who has been trolling the streets of Hollywood for a while now – I am convinced he is marketing ploy by the church to make Jesus relevant in pop culture again – without a good PR team behind him, I really don’t see how he would get on the Paramount lot. I heard he got denied entry to event at first and then they were like … um … and for some reason let him in. I will pay money for information on this man. And yes – I’ve seen the Jesus in L.A. website and haven’t found it informative enough.
MORE importantly – some of my FAVORITE New York transplants were in attendance – Chris and Vicky Cornell – formerly Vicky Karayiannis, who is an old friend of mine from our summers together at Le Rosey when we were growing up. Her little brother Nick Karayiannis (aka Nick Blast if you’ve ever been to Paris) has been in L.A. recently too.
In other couples news from the party – Rob Patterson, guitarist for Filter who I’ve met a few times cuz he use to work at Bolthouse, was there with his girlfriend Carmen Electra.
L.A. native and fellow Harvard-Westlake grad turned “Hero” Masi Oka was there as well.
Activision’s Dave Iscove (Brentwood ’92)
And Glee’s Mark Salling (♥) and Cory Monteith.
Also Hal Sparks, Ricky Phillips and Tommy Shaw of Styx, Joy Bryant, Jonathan Sadowiski, etc.
I didn’t see a lot of the usual L.A. scene last night – not that you NEED anymore cool people when you already have Soundgarden.
Vicky tweeted some pictures of her daughter – always the belle of the ball – walking on Paramount’s New York street with the Cornell’s bodyguard.
Obviously it’s amazing to see Soundgarden together again. Ofcourse it’s always good to see Astro Burger too!

I thought this was cute … it’s the announcement for the ticket give-aways. Although they spelled Angelenos wrong.
