Writer/Director George Gallo Range Rover at advanced screening at ICM
My friend took me to a director’s screening of this film at the ICM screening room inside the MGM building last year that I like to call a BOOGIE NIGHTS (because it’s sexy, cool and about porn) THE SOCIAL NETWORK (because it’s about the people who got on the internet bandwagon first) meets BLOW (cause it’s dangerous).
The coolest things about this film is that the director – who was present for the screening – had this Range Rover in the parking with cute little MIDDLE MEN license plates on his car. It’s nice to see someone be proud of their work. Now that this movie has been picked up for distribution and is coming out in theaters soon, I am posting this trailer and the pics for the screening.

MGM building in Century City
Set in the valley of porn, Jack Harris (LUKE WILSON) becomes the pioneer of internet commerce along with his two computer geeks buddies (GIOVANNI RIBISI). Innocently deciding not to produce or sell, they become the “middle men” between producers and vendors, inventing the notion of online porn sales and set out to make a profit on every transaction – for naked photos at first – in less htan a month they were making $200,000 a day.
Trouble ensues with politicians, shady business partners and the dangerous sort of people you meet when you make millions of dollars in cash, like arms dealers. This is an amazing biographical movie and is entertaining and it’s very, very strange that it took the studios so long to pick it up but Paramount Vantage finally got over the porn element and is bring this pic to the big screen August 6th, 2010. GO SEE! James Caan, Kelsey Grammer, Jesse Jane also star.
From IMDB: In 1995, everyone had a VCR, music was sold in record stores, and the world-wide-web was a new found discovery. Businessman Jack Harris (Luke Wilson) had the perfect life a beautiful family and a successful career fixing problem companies. Then he met Wayne Beering (Giovanni Ribisi) and Buck Dolby (Gabriel Macht), two genius but troubled men, who had invented the way adult entertainment is sold over the internet. When Jack agrees to help steer their business, he soon finds himself caught between a 23 year-old porn star and the FBI all the while becoming one of the wealthiest entrepreneurs of his time. Witness a story so outrageous, you won’t believe it’s true. A story that proves business is a lot like sex getting in is easy, pulling out is hard.
