Adrian Grenier is a trooper he was the first person I saw (giving interviews on the red carpet) and last person I saw at the party (mingling on the curb in front of BlackBerry’s free hot dog truck) tonight while leaving the party. Despite the swarm of paparazzi 30 feet downwind of the exit, they for some reason didn’t seem to notice.
Lots of LA Natives tonight including Rashida Jones (actress & daughter of Quincy Jones) who was hanging out with Joel Madden, Anthony Mandler (music video & commercial director, also produced the Snoop Dogg Show), Zelda Williams (daughter of Robbin Williams and budding actress), Katie Danza (daughter of Tony Danza who was also at Nylon party last night), RJ Williams (Young Hollywood) who brought along his new brand strategist Tracy Behr, and moi!
As I waded through the BlackBerry clad waiters and pull-pork sandwiches I ran into some of my friends and former colleagues from E! News: Noelia Murphy (a segment producer at E! Entertainment), Matt Donnelly (who currently writes for the Ministry of Gossip for the Los Angeles Times – formerly for E! online), Katrina Wan (formerly at E!) in attendance this evening with her sister and Michelle Pesce (aka DJ Pesce who will be DJ-ing the InStyle party tomorrow), and Ben Lyons (a host for The Daily Ten & E! News) there with his sister Hannah Lyons (a culinary student in New York).
Ben’s friend, who I’ve met through him before, Michelle Tractenberg (aka Georgina on Gossip Girl) was also there walking around with DJ Qualls and sitting with Nikki Reed. A girl asked my friend Tracy Bjelland (who is from a very well known family in Norway, epic for their King Oscar Sardines empire) for a cigarette who turned out to be the original Nikita! Good thing she said yes.
Drake performed for the crowd of 200 and nearly ended the night when he went off stage yelling “have good night, see you next time” and then quickly grabbed back the mic and instructed people to not leave yet.
From the BlackBerry team in Canada who came in for the launch party – Douglas Soltys (former Blackberry blogger), Chris Hall (AT&T Product Manager), Geoff McMurdo (vice president of marketing for North America at BlackBerry maker Research in Motion), Kiyomi Rutledg (public relations coordinator for Research In Motion), Sonya Rotondi (marketing manager) and Mike Woodward (executive director, mobile professional solutions, for AT&T).
Harrison & Shriftman oversaw the event held at 5900 Wilshire Blvd. aka the “Variety building” with performances by Drake and DJ sets from Future the Prince. Can’t believe EVERYONE got BlackBerry’s!!! 200 gifts bag waiting to be claimed with little black tickets we got at the door
Other L.A. Notables, friends and interesting people include: Jeremy Scott with a pretty blonde friend in one of his Flintstones-inspired numbers, Chris Huvane, Frankie Delgado (friend and also was on The Hills), Mike Appel (944), Jack Ketsyon in the photo booth with Kristin Cavallari, Stacey Mooradian of Lionsgate, Rachel Shaprio, Beau Swayze (CAA) and Sam Keywanfar (House of Hype).
Nothing turns out a party better than giving away free BlackBerrys … Other celebs include: Venus & Serena Williams, Christina Ricci, Gloria Votsis (“Alex” on White Collar my favvvvorite show), Mario Lopez with a very very pregnant Courtney Mazza, Amber Valletta, Anna Kendrick, Christian Serratos (Twilight), Mark Saling, Lea Michelle (Glee), Felicity Huffman, Paul Iacano (from RJ Berger), Gina Gershon, Rachel Hunter, Jessica Lowndes, Shenae Grimes, Amber Lancaster who was with her buddy and friend of the Truffle Angie Banicki.
