ET Emmys 2010 Party

Hollywood stopped and stared this weekend as the biggest night in Television took place. TV Execs and starlets alike made mad dashes to much-anticipated parties like the Governor’s Ball and HBO all over town.

I was particularly excited about Entertainment Tonight’s Emmy bash.

I like a party where Andy Gelb is in charge – his guest lists are notoriously tight, so his parties (and that of Slate PR where he transferred after his event reign at PMK/HBH) look like an IMDB cast page … minus a few hiccups this night like Levi Johnson and arguably Kate Gosselin (this seems to have been a town-wide epidemic this Emmys weekend, lol).

I arrived at the site of the party, an old church that is now Vibiana. It was a bit eerie- not going to lie, seeing Cyndi Lauper shimmy and shake like an 18 yr old on what used to be an altar.

15. Despite how cool the Cannes film festival is, you cringe every time you drive by that dumb sign reading: “Beverly Hills, Sister City to Cannes”.

16. You’ve seen Larry King at Nate-n-Al’s enough times to acknowledge him with a nod.

17. You buy wedding gifts at Geary’s, and Bar Mitzvah gifts at Fourteen Karats.

18. Beverly Hills below Wilshire is called ”Beverly Hills below Wilshire.”

19. Your mom, aunt or friend’s aunt was either President of the Beverly Hills Women’s Club or got kicked out of the Beverly Hills Women’s club.

20. You wonder how Linda Resnick got the permit for her pomegranate orchard.

21. You still call Rite-Aid Thriftys.

22. You remember when Jerry’s Deli had phones in the booths

23. You think New York is a flyover state

24. You have a beach house in the Colony but NEVER go in the water.

Bianca’s Beautiful L.A. – Newest Lingerie Store on the Block!

“Intimacy” now in Los Angeles has found it’s home at the Century City Westfield Mall.  I had the pleasure of getting custom fitted for a bra by the super famous (appeared on the Oprah show like 5 times!! yes the big O is a BIG fan) Susan Nethero, the founder, the visionary,  chief fit strategist aka the bra whisperer…Susan is a dream! I came with my sister Maggie, who was on summer vacation from Columbia University,  and we both had such a great time with Susan- chatting and getting fit with our correct bra size (i used to think i was a 34B and now im wearing a 32D!!!!!!!!!).

Did you know that ‘If you are like 85% of all women, you’re probably wearing the wrong size bra…and suffering the discomforts and impact this has on your shape under clothes…well now you do. They offer complimentary custom bra fittings so that “you can look great and feel great in the right bra”.

Their mission statement is clear and I love it- “Intimacy is all about supporting women. Not just with a properly-fitted, uplifting bra; but also by taking care of ourselves. nurturing our families and friends, upholding our sisters worldwide and seeking an enriching life at home, in the workplace and in our communities” “saggy” is not a word i want used when people are describing my “girls”…so Intimacy believes that “proper bra support is important to prevent permanent damage to breast tissue” and that “with a properly fitted bra, you can feel comfortable all the time, look your best and know that your bra investment is worth while.”

I’m thrilled to report that locations are popping up all over the country because of the wildfire explosion of positive clientelle experiences. Knowledgable and friendly staff will take you under their wing and explain to you everything you need to know about bras and how they should fit and how you should be caring for them. To properly wash and care for your undergoods- they recommend putting them in a lingerie bag and washing them on the delicate cycle in the machine and then take them out and hang dryor lay flat to dry in the fresh air. Do not ever throw your delicates into the dryer, the heat will kill the very delicate elastic and warp the metal underwires.

They have a couple of lingerie washes to choose from there in the store or i asked if it was ok to use shampoo  to wash your delicates as regular washing machine detergent can be a little harsh for these delicate creations. Susan also recommended dish washing liquid too- said it was good for removing grease….ya…grease.  Such a pleasure and a great experience, I’m excited to be topless and bearing lots of healthy cleavage!

I was sent home with some wonderful gifts, spanx to hold in my little sister’s bloat after one too many pain au chocolates, matching bra and panty sets, and  lingerie care kits. I’m thrilled  to report that since wearing my new bra, i have had lots of comments like “your boobs look so much bigger” or my favorite…”that’s a great padded bra” to which i responded…”honey…that’s not padding…that’s all me!!!!!!!”

- A friends of our who works with GREY GOOSE sent over an invite to the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Nominee reception at the Pacific Design Center – this is a really casual event that has a lot of the nominees come and the best part is the coffee cart they have outside by the valet

- HBO Lounge at Four Seasons Hotel

- Petersen Automotive Museum Emmy Awards Style Lounge – We are ub-sessed with the Petersen and are stalking them until we get a tour of their vault so any chance to penetrate, we will take

- EW/WIF pre-Emmy’s Party at Sunset Marquis

- Vanity Fair party at Chateau

SATURDAY Aug. 28

- BAFTA/LA Tea Party in Century City – we super hate this location but we do like British men

- Art of Elysium event at Milk Studios – basically, art of elysium has the best parties in all of LA which is not an easy thing to accomplish (see coverage here)

- The 4th Annual Evening Before party – hosted by Jeffrey Katzenberg and benefitting the Motion Picture & Television Fund – behind CAA in Century City, Michelle Pesce is DJing!!

- NBC/Universal Emmy Party at Spago, anything Spago is always appealing especially for those of us who teethed on the Bistro Garden

SUNDAY Aug. 29

- 62nd Emmys at NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE (see coverage here)

- ET (Entertainment Tonight) party at Vibiana with Cyndi Lauper & Sam Ronson

- Official Emmys party / Governors ball at the L.A. Convention Center – i dont even know why we put this on here. why will the Emmys not accept that no one wants to party at convention center, obviously the plan to have it conveniently located is enough. who is in charge? it’s more convenient to get in your car and valet again than to walk all the way over to the convention center next door. Grammys, if you are listening this goes for you too.

- HBO’s Emmys Party at Pacific Design Center – ok OBVIOUSLY this is the E Ticket of Emmys parties based on pure logic. HBO has the best shows, therefore the shows will win the most awards so HBO will spend the most money. And we are correct EVERY year.

- 20th Century Fox/FX Emmy’s Party at Cicada – where? I mean, I know, but why?

- Jimmy Fallon’s after-party at Trousdale – We heart JF and we heart Trousdale so

Kimvo Salon at the Montage in Beverly Hills – My New Favorite Place!

I met Russell and Kimvo – the team behind the KIMVO salons – at a Chanel pre-fall fashion show at Saks 5th Avenue (here in Beverly Hills). They told me they recently opened up a salon inside the newly built Montage hotel just down the street from my house on Burton Way. The Montage – which is located on Canon & Wilshire has already become my home away from home as it’s the first and only hotel that won the Mobile Awards within two months of opening – a massive exception because they usually wait several years to see if the hotel passes the test of time! (The Beverly Hills hotel is famous for this award.)

I went to visit Kimvo & Russell ASAP and had my hair curled by the lovely Angela.

This is actually the 4th Montage the salon is in – with the others being Laguna, Las Vegas and San Francisco. This adds yet another reason to visit the hotel.

LIVE! from the Kari Feinstein Emmys Style Lounge – DAY 1, DAY 2

Bonjourno trufflers!! Kari Feinstein and Mike McGuiness are setting up shop right now for their Pre-Emmys Style Lounge in Beverly Hills. As people close to the core may know Kari is the originator of the pre-awards show beauty and pampering parties. Having known and grown up with Kari (and even working for her) I have watched the other swag and beauty suites pop up over the years trying to pinch her style. The coolest thing about Kari and her partner Mike McGuiness (besides having attendees like Adrien Brody, Ben Affleck and Bradley Cooper) is that – although they are pure professionals – they also have a fierce cool factor, know absolutely everyone and are synonymous with young Hollwood from WAY before they were in the business of young Hollywood. That can be said of very few.

We will be on the ground all giving z play-by-plays … Stay Tuned … !!!
