The Daily Truffle shares several friends with the Winklevoss Twins portrayed in the Facebook movie including one set of female twins, a fellow Olympian, a couple Harvard-Westlake grads and a handful or Ivy Leaguers and Harvard U alum.
The photo here is from Cameron & Tyler’s “matriculation” in Oxford where they are in graduate school. We don’t have matriculation in this country but it is a traditional ceremony that welcomes first year students into university in England.
Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss were recently in L.A. for a party Cameron was throwing for his new website Guest of a Guest and to go to Coachella. The twins invited their film star counterparts – Armie Hammer and Josh Pence (more Armie than Josh of course) to join them at the party which was held at the Mondrian.

One of the cool things in the Facebook movie The Social Network is the attention they pay to the detail of the twins’ lives – including and most important to me – the Henley Royal Regatta - the movie filmed on location for this scene in England – and even portrays meeting Prince Albert of Monte Carlo. #HEROSTATUS

The twins were invited to a bunch of screenings and premieres for the film ie. the Cinema Society screening in New York. The Cinema Society – for those of you who don’t know – screen films for social types and celebrities before they are out in theaters.

Every other review I read has Armie Hammer playing both roles. Rotten Tomatoes lists Josh Pence as playing Tyler. What gives?
Josh Pence acted as a stand in and then Armie went and played both roles over him. There are some scenes though where they leave Josh in – like the tank scene when Div tells them Mark stole the site. xoxo
I Love the winklevoss twins I think there way to hansome I would love to meet them one of these days new years night I went to city nights an saw a guy who lookd jus lyk them I died he was way too cute lolz
Josh plays Tyler in the movie, but they CG’d in Armie’s face because in real life the Winklevoss’ are identical twins. It’s Josh’s voice you hear though – they took special acting classes to learn how to talk and mimic each other as twins do. We’re related and I heard this from his dad, but Josh and Armie have also talked about it several times in interviews.
