I cannot believe how good E! programming has gotten. Check out Kourtney’s very weird self-child-birth. I don’t even know why the doctor was there.
We asked San Francisco-based midwife Ami Burnham if this is at all normal and here is what she said:
“This birth practice is not uncommon… of course the attending provider has to offer and the mother has to desire to help the baby out, but it is certainly not unheard of.”
According to Ami, “the doctor or midwife helps to guide the head and the anterior shoulder out, once those bits are out the baby usually slips out into mama’s or anyone else’s hands for that matter. Of course the woman has to be in a position in which she can reach down and grab her own baby but other then that it’s not to challenging.”
