Vivienne Westwood

Famed eccentric fashion designer, Vivienne Westwood, is opening a store on Melrose Place, near Sweet Lady Jane tea house.

This was very ironic to me because more than half of the stores on Melrose Place, east of La Cinega are closing, empty, or under construction.  It is very brave of Westwood to open an expensive store in this economy, and on Melrose Place.

Mrs. Westwood has won the British Fashion Council Award for best designer three times !

I absolutely LOVE Vivienne Westwood, so I am looking very forward for this store to open!

It was at this time Westwood began to sell her crazy designs.

Westwood still owns this store, called Worlds End, where she sells her lower priced line, Anglomania.

The English Punk style became popular when the Sex Pistols wore clothes from Westwood and McLaren’s shop at their first concert.

This “punk style” included bondage gear, safety pins, razor blades, bicycle or lavatory chains on clothing and spiked dog collars for jewelry, as well as outrageous make-up and hair

Vivienne has 5 stores worldwide

Carrie’s wedding dress from the Sex in the City movie was made by Westwood.

Orange-ish hair is her trademark look

Mrs. Westwood is also a major major political activist

Has arrived to get her OBE (Order of the British Empire award) knickerless, twice !
