  2. Um, not really. Avatar came out months after the S/S10 show.

Mcqueen’s references were plato’s atlantis. They are much more mindful and historically referenced, along with creative, than Avatar. Don’t compare him to such tat as ‘Avatar’.

  3. We have missing links to our photos at the moment but when they are back on line not the models faces you may change your mind. what is your source anyway Miss Zed? xx Caroline@dailytruffle.net

  4. I originally posted this on November 30th, which is way before Avatar came out. Obviously Avatar was made and show way before Alexander McQueen even came up with this concept…. I was comparing the two.
    I haven’t even seen Avatar… no interest.
    What is tat?

  5. Tat is a polite way of saying crap, McQueen based his collection on Darwin’s Origin of the Species and the idea that because of the rising waters caused by global warming that humans have had to devolve back into sea creatures. That’s why the models have such strange make-up and prosethetics on their faces. The completed Avatar wasn’t shown until December, and anyone who saw it earlier would have been a crew member, studio employee, or member of the press. McQueen probably came up with this concept more than a year ago while Avatar was still in production. It takes months to work on these collection especially the Couture pieces. What you noticed is that both this collection, and the Avatar film are themed heavily around nature, which is just a coincidence. R.I.P. Lee McQueen
